Group 2 placegetter MATISSE (2) accounted for a maiden field over 5½f at Doomben last start when fresh from a break. Sparingly raced and has more to offer. No reason she cannot get the job done again. ASTAPOR (1) has been freshened since finishing fourth over 6½f in the LR Oxlade Stakes at this track. Filled a placing in a recent Deagon trial. One of the key chances. SURPRISE HONEY (11) improved last time out, finishing 0.7 lengths from the winner in second at the end of 5½f at Doomben after being in contention on the corner. Meets some better types this time but a win is not out of the question. STAR AMBITION (5) pushed forward and was a determined winner by a long neck over 5f at Sunshine Coast on debut five weeks ago. Facing a tougher assignment but must be respected.
