SHY GUY (1) is a talented gelding who was well held last time out in the tougher Queensland Derby won by Warmonger over 1m4f at this track, beaten 30 lengths into 15th. Well placed and expected to feature. TANNENBURG (2) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 7¾f at Canterbury, beaten 4.5 lengths into sixth after being prominent at the bend. This is a nice drop in grade so he is likely to play a big role. FREE CARRY (4) resumed over 6¾f and turned in a fair run to finish eighth at Doomben. Yet to miss the frame over this longer journey and gets chance to show best. LISSARO (14) returned from a lay-off two weeks ago when he was beaten 6 lengths into 12th over 6¾f at Doomben. Strips fitter and should be thereabouts.
