SLEW'S JOY (6) did little and finished 6 lengths from the winner in fifth over 1m at this track last start after being in contention on the corner, a less impressive effort than his fourth at Los Alamitos the run before. Looks well placed so expect a big run this time. YES HE CAN (9) is a distance specialist who is progressing well this campaign. Opened with a seventh at Pleasanton (Dirt) two starts back then scored by a nose last time out after being prominent at the turn over 5½f at Sacramento (Dirt). Stepping up a level this time but on his best form he is one of the chief contenders. C'MON MAN (8) was out of the money when resuming from a lay-off last start over 5½f at this track, beaten 8 lengths. Strips fitter and can find winning ways. MARKS HIP (10) was beaten 23 lengths into sixth in a 1m contest at Los Alamitos at his latest appearance. Better than recent efforts suggest.
