STARSPANGLEDANCER (5) ran on strongly only to just miss when fresh from a lay-off as favourite last start over 5½f at this track. Will strip a lot fitter this time around. Placed to advantage and can take this out. MISS BLACK DIAMOND (4) is a consistent performer with four minor placings from five starts this time in work. Was always up in the leading division and finished 6 lengths from the winner in third at the latest outing over 5f at this track. Looks well placed so expect another big run. BRYCE (3) didn't make an impact at his last run before going for a lay-off on July 20 finishing ninth and beaten 12 lengths over 1m2 1/4f at this track. Makes plenty of appeal. CAPTAIN GEORGE (1) is a genuine type with six minor placings from nine starts this campaign. Turned in another good effort last time out when second over 6½f at this track. In a suitable race and can play a major role.
