MONTE TIANA (8) is returning from a lay-off of five months. Finished tenth at Kembla Grange over 6f at the first run last prep. Now with a new trainer Noel Mayfield-Smith. Ran fourth in a trial at Coffs Harbour over 4f recently. Looks set to run well for the new mentor. NORTHERN BOOGIE (3) was prominent into the straight last time but was overwhelmed late and wound up in fourth over 6¼f at Kempsey. Among the top chances in what looks a most suitable race. NEXT PAY RUN (11) had support when resuming last time out and was only 2.75 lengths from the winner in sixth over 5f at Ballina. Likely to improve with that run under the belt so she is one of the leading contenders. EMOTIONAL APPEAL (6) was beaten 4.5 lengths into sixth in a 7f contest at Tamworth four weeks ago. Finds a nice race and can bounce back.
