JULIUS DES PICTONS (2) was impressive last time out at Plumpton winning by 5L tackling 2m4 1/2f. Has raced consistently over hurdles in both UK and France. The form from his UK debut has worked out with the winner subsequently following up at Ascot. Leading contender. CLAP OF THUNDER (1) finished a respectable 9.75L fifth at the November meeting at Cheltenham tackling a similar trip. Claims from both hurdle debut at this venue and in a jumpers’ flat event at Fairyhouse. Main danger. SHADE OF WINTER (7) has laced on each of his three career starts. Previously seen finishing 9L third on hurdle debut. Respect for a local yard. PIPER PARK (11) is interesting when resuming over hurdles.
