Race Tip
Runner-up in the JCB Triumph Hurdle last year KARGESE (7) could prove too smart for her rivals on handicap debut. The Willie Mullins trained mare won the G1 Spring Juvenile Hurdle at Leopardstown last season and may take a step forward from her second-place finish in the G2 Warfield Mares Hurdle at Ascot during January. Stablemate ABSURDE (2) landed this prize twelve months ago and cannot be ignored on his first start back since finishing fifth in the G1 Lexus Melbourne Cup at Flemington. MCLAUREY (10) is progressive. Looked to have something in reserve winning a valuable handicap hurdle at Leopardstown last month and might go well despite climbing 1st4lb in weights. LARK IN THE MORNIN (13) won the Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle at this meeting last season and is another to note. VALGRAND (12) warrants thought.
