SMOOTH RICO (12) finished sixth over 5½f at Mountaineer Park (Dirt) at his most recent appearance on July 24. Has switched to the Michael E Jones Jnr stable. Rates highly and makes plenty of appeal. ON THE COME UP (3) missed the placings two starts back then ran a better race and finished 4.5 lengths away in fourth last time out over 4½f at this track. Well placed and there is no reason he cannot find winning ways. CLAW (1) was comfortably accounted for when second last time out over 4½f at this track, beaten 3 lengths after being in contention on the bend. That followed a win at Mountaineer Park at the previous outing. Well placed and there is no reason he cannot make amends. LAZARETTO (6) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 6½f at Timonium, beaten 11 lengths into fifth. Likely improver with strong top-three prospects.
