INDEPENDENT ROAD (7) finished 3 lengths away in fifth last time out over 1m1f at Sandown-Hillside after being in contention on the bend two-and-a-half weeks ago. Tackles a longer journey this time. Jye Mcneil is back on and is yet to miss the top-three from six rides, including two wins. Among the leading chances. TOURISTIC (4) had been racing well prior to finishing 5 lengths back in sixth over 1m3 1/2f in the G3 Newcastle Cup. Settles back early but winds up late. One to consider. KING Set Weights OOD (8) was too good when resuming in an easier race over 1m1f at Sandown-Hillside last start, scoring by 2.25 lengths. Fitter for that last hitout and is worth following up.
