THE GREAT HOUDINI (6) had been racing okay but he was safely held last time out when seventh over 6¼f at Randwick Kensington. Settles back early but winds up late. Leading contender. VALIANCY (9) has had two runs since a break, the latest a eighth over 6f at Warwick Farm, beaten 3.5 lengths. Has scope for improvement so she is among the leading chances. AMNESTY (2) resumed over 5f last time out and turned in a solid effort to finish fifth at Randwick after she was well back on straightening. Won't be bothered by this longer journey. Likely to play a major role. MOLLY NAILS (4) was out of the money when resuming from a lay-off last start over 6f at Warwick Farm, beaten 3.5 lengths. Likely improver with top-three prospects.
