DODGE THE DARK (6) led into the straight last start over 1m1/2f at Gundagai on a heavy surface but could not sustain the pressure and finished seventh. Has a high cruising speed. Expected to be in the finish. SAPPHIRES SON (8) wasn't far away last time at big odds, finishing third over 7f at Goulburn. Should be in the finish. PRETTY EYED (4) has been out of the winner's list for a long time, last start finishing sixth at Moruya over 1m1/4f. Has the class to take care of this field. BONNYVILLE (3) proved too strong two runs ago but was not as effective last time out when tenth over 5½f at Gundagai, beaten 7 lengths. Nicely placed to play a leading role.
