GULF OF LION (6) raced here on his home turf just seven days ago and did a good job to finish 2.25 lengths away in third over 7½f. Good effort last start and will be hard to beat. VENTURA OCEAN (4) scored by a nose in a at Townsville then filled a placing last time at Bowen. Gets a little weight relief. Best form puts him right in this. BATTLE CRY (3) is yet to find the frame in two runs since resuming from a lay-off, the latest when fourth over 6¼f at this track after he was in contention on the corner. Has a solid record at the third run in and can turn things around. BOLD TYPE (2) did well to score two runs ago then turned in a nice run last time out when second over 6¼f at this track, beaten 2 lengths. Well placed and can make amends.
