MARY OF MODENA (7) performed well racing close to the pace prior to recording a 0.5L second in a handicap over 5½f at this venue in October. Looks capable of making a winning seasonal debut. SKALLYWAG BAY (2) returned to action with a 1.3L third attempting a 5f handicap on the AW at Wolverhampton. Expected to play a role. CONQUISTADOR (9) looks a major threat switching to turf following a 2.5L third in a 5f handicap at Chelmsford. HAYMAKER (1) ended last year with a 7L last of five tackling 5f at Lingfield in November. Warrants close consideration when resuming.
