TESTATOR SILENS (1) tackled a dirt track for the first time last start and got the job done for new trainer Clinton Austin, scoring by 0.9 lengths over 6½f at Longreach. Worth following up. HE'S MAVERICK (16) hasn't been able to break through for an extended period, the latest effort a sixth over 1m at Betoota. Meeting a tougher field but on his best form he is one of the chief contenders. HETTINGER (4) finished second two runs back at Darwin then improved last time out to score by 12 lengths as public elect over 1m1/2f at Katherine. Likely to be in the finish again.
