CONTRERAS (3) got well back over 1m1f at Gold Coast last time and never threatened, eventually finishing 7 lengths away in seventh. Best figures measure up nicely. Sure to run well. I'MTIMMYZOU (1) was comfortably accounted for when fifth last time out over 6½f at Lismore, beaten 6 lengths. That followed a win at Lismore at the previous outing. Nicely placed to give this a mighty shake. DESERT MIST (4) doesn't boast the best winning strike rate but ran a strong race last time out, finishing fourth and beaten only 1.2 lengths over 7f at Grafton after being in contention on the bend. Well placed and there is no reason he cannot find winning ways. AMALGAMATION (5) is experiencing a long win drought, extended last start when eighth over 1m1f at Gold Coast after he was well back on straightening. Likely improver who should be in the mix.
