NAVAL OFFICER (3) faced the starter for the first time last start and was just fair in finishing fourth at Geelong over 6f27yards, beaten 5 lengths. Has upside and deserves another chance. ATOYO (1) returned from a lay-off two weeks ago when he was beaten 4 lengths into 11th over 6f at this track. Strips fitter and can figure in the finish. PRIDE OF PARIAH (4) finished third last start at the first run back from a lay-off over 5½f at Pakenham Synthetic, beaten 4 lengths. This doesn't look as hard so he is sure to be prominent. RIVER ROSE (10) produced another moderate effort last start when 6 lengths from the winner in ninth over 7f at Bendigo. Suitably placed so can turn things around.
