A small but competitive G2 contest. JOHNNYWHO (1) could not catch the top two in the G2 John Francome Novices Chase at Newbury. Respect on a chase debutante performance at Carlisle. RARE EDITION (4) was not disgraced when beaten 2.5L over course and distance last time out. Good hurdle form to act on and may run the top pick close. MARK OF GOLD (2) makes his chasing debut here. Interesting to see him tackle fences at this high level. PERSONAL AMBITION (3) is yet to score over fences. Might have an impact if acting off initial form.
