MAGIC DEFENSE (8) led early and was still in the firing line on the turn last start before tiring to finish fourth over 1m at Pakenham Synthetic. This looks a nice race so expect her to be right in the finish. ONEOFTHESENIGHTS (9) had been racing well with two consecutive placings before last start managing only eighth over 6f at this track. Has the speed to be prominent. Will give a great sight. BODMIN BOY (1) is yet to break through in 12 runs but has been thereabouts. Placed in a then was 2.5 lengths away in fourth over 6f at this track last time. Should be parked just off the speed. Well placed here and among the winning hopes. OLD MATE SMITHY (4) finished 5.5 lengths away in fourth at his last appearance over 6¾f at Kununurra on August 31. Cannot be ruled out in this suitable assignment.
