MAXIMS (7) is a five-start maiden who filled a minor placing at Ballarat Synthetic at the last run before lay-offing. Tricky draw to overcome. Has ability and is a solid chance. FLASH FIORENTE (4) is a 17-start maiden who finished sixth at his most recent outing over 6½f at Darwin. Suited in this line up and is among the better hopes. HELLO CAROL (10) turned in a strong performance when resuming when in the money at this track but disappointed last time when seventh, beaten 6 lengths, at this track over 6f. Nicely placed to make amends.
