HOT ONE (2) is a promising type who was in the placings on debut before a fourth last time over 6½f at Swan Hill. Settles back early but winds up late. Best form puts her right in this. PUSSYFOOT (6) has been in the mix without winning, the latest effort a fourth over 6f at Benalla. Will drift back but wind up late. Will be tough to hold out. CANNY DEFENSE (1) finished out of the money two starts back then he was always well out of his ground and was beaten 4 lengths when seventh over 7f at Benalla a week-and-a-half ago. Finds a nice race and can figure in the finish. RASLOC (7) raced handy on debut last start and gave a good sight before tiring to finish sixth and beaten 3 lengths over 6½f at Orange. Has upside and must be respected.
