Cheltenham nap March 16: L'Homme can be 'the man' in the Brown Advisory
Planet Sport tipster Jonathan Doidge wants to get stuck into those bookies again with his nap for Wednesday, March 16. He's come up with one that is Cheltenham bound and runs in the Brown Advisory.
There's so much to look forward to on day two, but it has to be said that the Brown Advisory Novices' Chase has lost some of it's lustre, given that neither Galopin Des Champs nor Bob Olinger are going to turn up, having long vied for favouritism in the ante-post market.
What that does do, however, is present horses who looked likely to be playing for places with a chance of success. In this case, and this is rare for the 2022 Festival, the leading trio in the market on the day look like being trained in England. I'm going for one of them.
The Venetia Williams-trained L'Homme Presse has come on leaps and bounds this season over fences and is now 4-4.
He has jumped well around stiff tracks such as Exeter, Ascot, Cheltenham (winning the Grade 2 Dipper Novices' Chase) and most recently Sandown, when winning the Grade 1 Scilly Isles Novices' Chase.
He'll have an extra half mile to cover in the Brown Advisory but he shapes like he'll get that to me and the advice is to get on. He handles soft ground and if it dries out to the usual good to soft at the Festival, that will be perfect!
So it's L'Homme Presse to be 'the man' in the 14.50 at Cheltenham.
