Breaking down the Breeders’ Cup Classic: Fierceness reigns at number one

In the latest Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic Rankings, Repole Stable’s Fierceness continues to demonstrate his talent and skill.

Immediately after Saratoga Race Course's victory in the prestigious Travers Stakes (G1) on August 24, he managed to stay in the lead with 343 votes.

campaigns on the ladder is Sierra Leone, now fourth with 185 votes, and Dornoch, the Belmont Stakes (G1) winner, completes the five.

Promoted to the highest division differs from Highland Falls because Highland Falls has been exceptional in that after a strong win in the Jockey Club Gold Cup (G1), they have managed to break into the rankings for the first time this week. The individuals participating in this cultured performance placed him at number six with 134 votes.

The rankings list the leading contenders based on the performance of the horses in readiness for the $7 million Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic scheduled for Nov. 2 at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club.

About Breeders' Cup

The Breeders' Cup World Championships are the fitting culmination of Thoroughbred horse racing, and the Breeders' Cup is among its leading attractions.
