Tim Tszyu still unbeaten after stunning first-round knockout against Carlos Ocampo
WBO interim junior middleweight champion Tim Tszyu underlined his credentials with a dominant first-round knockout of Carlos Ocampo to extend his record to 23-0 with 17 knockouts.
Tszyu attacked Ocampo as soon as the opening bell sounded, rocking him with a powerful right-hand seconds into the fight that clearly shook the Mexican.
The Australian didn't give him any time to regather his wits, either, and was on him again moments later with another hard right hand that knocked Ocampo to the canvas.
To his credit, he did manage to get up but it was only so that the champion could drop him again, this time with a left hook, and force referee Danrx Tapdasan to stop the fight.
"I got a question for everyone here, what's my name?" said a clearly pumped-up Tszyu to Fox Sports after the fight.
"I think that was a statement made. I think Errol did it in two and a half minutes just near the three-minute mark.
"I think I got him out there a bit earlier. So I beat you, Errol. I beat you to it.
"There is no battle with America. That's the land I want to conquer. The land I'm going to next. The big one coming up. I've got this interim belt but I'm not satisfied."
