Frank Warren has ‘big hope’ for Tyson Fury vs Joe Joyce at Wembley this summer

Frank Warren

Queensberry Promotions supremo Frank Warren has claimed that he wants to make Tyson Fury vs Joe Joyce this summer at Wembley.

Before this can happen, Fury is due to face Oleksandr Usyk in an undisputed heavyweight fight for all four of the world title belts on April 29.

Joyce meanwhile is coming off victories over Daniel Dubois, Carlos Takam, Christian Hammer and Joseph Parker.
These wins have placed him as a likely next opponent for whoever triumphs out of Fury or Usyk.
Before he can fight for a world title, Joyce will face Zhilei Zhang at the Copper Box Arena on April 15.

Fury and Joyce are both Queensberry fighters and Warren wants them to face each other if they have their hands raised after their respective bouts in April.

"I was delighted last week to be able to officially signpost a proper banger of a heavyweight fight for April 15 when Big Joe Joyce goes up against Big Bang Zhang, otherwise known as Zhilei Zhang," said Warren in his latest column.

"Our big hope, of course, is that the Juggernaut remains on a collision course with Tyson Fury and a big summer date at Wembley.
"That is the plan if Tyson takes all the titles from Oleksandr Usyk and Joe does the business on April 15 in Stratford."
Warren previously suggested that Joyce is a "really big threat" in the heavyweight division.
"We promote Joe and Joe has become a really big threat and he's a mandatory, as he's the interim WBO champion, Warren said last month.
"I think he had one of the fights of the year last year against Joseph Parker, it was a cracking fight, and he showed what he was made of.
"That would be a great fight [between Fury and Joyce] and I think the public will turn out for that big time, that's a stadium fight in the UK."
This could prove to be wishful thinking from Warren. It is likely that Fury and Usyk will end up fighting multiple times if their first bout is a closely fought contest.
The summer may also be too soon, as Fury and Usyk tend to fight just twice a year. Joyce certainly deserves a world title shot, but he may have to wait for a while longer yet.
