Carl Froch claims Anthony Joshua vs Dillian Whyte is ‘50/50 fight’ after ‘offer’ is submitted
Carl Froch reckons Anthony Joshua "needs to win" against Dillian Whyte and "look good" doing so ahead of his December clash with Deontay Wilder.
Former world champion Carl Froch thinks Anthony Joshua vs Dillian Whyte is a "50/50 fight" that one boxer "needs to win".
The two Brits left much to be desired with their respective performances and they are now in talks for a rematch, which could take place in a UK stadium or the O2 Arena in August.
Joshua and Whyte produced an all-British classic when they fought in 2015. Their reputations have been hampered in recent years but this is still a huge fight.
Reflecting on their first fight, Froch pointed out that Joshua "used to be a great finisher".
"I can remember working for Sky that night and everyone in the studio was all shocked that AJ's legs were wobbled," Froch said via his YouTube channel.
"AJ then finished off Dillian Whyte. He gave him a good couple of shots, a good combination. He's a great finisher AJ, or used to be a great finisher."
“We made an offer to Whyte on Friday.” 👀

Froch went on to claim that Joshua "needs to win" and "look good" doing it if he faces Whyte.
"For Dillian Whyte, it's a great fight to get him back in the mix, but for AJ people are gonna think this is a rebuilding fight. It's a fight that AJ needs to win and he needs to look good winning," Froch added.
"I think it's probably, at this stage, a 50/50 fight and a pick 'em winner."
It is hoped that Joshua will fight Whyte in August before coming up against Deontay Wilder in Saudi Arabia this December, in what would be a mega-money bout in the Middle East.
Joshua's promoter - Eddie Hearn - has confirmed that an "offer" has been made to Whyte for the rematch.
"Our plan, which we've stressed, is for AJ to box on 12 August and in December again against Deontay," Hearn told the BBC.
"The offer was made to Dillian over the weekend. We are waiting for his response to that and we'll talk today.
"Dillian has a lot of value in the rematch. This is not an opponent for Joshua, but a big fight between two world-class heavyweights and huge British names. The negotiations will be difficult but both AJ and Whyte want the fight."
