ATP Bastad: Cameron Norrie vs Rafael Nadal
Cameron Norrie has just one win to his name in five matches against Rafael Nadal with the Spaniard in charge of their rivalry.
However, the last time that they squared off, Norrie won 3-6 6-3 6-4 in the United Cup back in 2022.
Norrie has endured a tough time on clay this season, winning eight matches and losing seven.
Nadal breezed past Leo Borg in the previous round to set up this clash against the former British number one.
ATP Bastad: Henrique Rocha vs Nuno Borges
Compatriots Henrique Rocha and Nuno Borges will contest their first-ever head-to-head match in the Round of 16 in Bastad.
Borges holds the edge when it comes to experience and form this season with a ranking that is 131 places higher than his countryman.
Rocha bested Camilo Ugo Carabelli in the first round and now faces his country's top player.
Borges will be out to return to the top 50 with another win in Bastad.
ATP Gstaad: Daniel Elahi Galan vs Matteo Berrettini
Handy clay courters Daniel Elahi Galan and Matteo Berrettini are set to contest their first head-to-head match in Gstaad.
Galan easily defeated Vit Kopriva to start his campaign with a straight-sets win.
Berrettini also started well with a good win over Pedro Cachin to start his Swiss Open tilt.
Berrettini has the superior ranking and is also looking to climb back up the standings after his injury woes.
ATP Gstaad: Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Yannick Hanfmann
There is no head-to-head record between Felix Auger-Aliassime and Yannick Hanfmann since their Round of 16 clash in Gstaad will be the first time they will face off on the main tour.
Auger-Aliassime is having the better season so far and should be confident of coming out on top in this one.
The Canadian’s best result of this season was reaching the final in Madrid and he will feel this is a good chance to lift some silverware.
Hanfmann was a finalist in Gstaad back in 2017 but hasn't looked like replicating that form this term.
ATP Hamburg: Marco Trungelliti vs Holger Vitus Nodskov Rune
Holger Rune has beaten Marco Trungelliti in the past but their two singles meetings came in a lower-level event back in 2020 and 2021.
Rune has gone on to establish himself among the top players while the Italian has struggled for a foothold.
The Dane had a disappointing Wimbledon but will want to make a good fist of an Olympic challenge in Paris.
Rune returned to winning ways first up with a good straight sets win.
ATP Hamburg: Alexander Zverev vs Hugo Gaston
Defending champion Alexander Zverev is out to retain his hometown title and needs to get beyond Hugo Gaston in their first head-to-head meeting.
Zverev might have ended his long wait for a home title last season but will still be someone determined to take this title.
Gaston has shown glimpses of great form and is a dangerous player against almost anyone on tour.
The Frenchman might struggle against Zverev though as the German number is having one of his better campaigns.
ATP Newport: Alex Michelsen vs Aleksandar Kovacevic
Newport has thrown up several players who could also claim a home title with Alex Michelsen out to repeat his great run from last season.
Fellow American Aleksandar Kovacevic awaits in the next round of the Hall of Fame Open in Newport.
This will be the third meeting between the countrymen with Michelsen holding the lead in the rivalry.
Michelsen has won both of their previous meetings with a victory at Challenger level and one on the full tour earlier this year.
ATP Newport: Reilly Opelka vs Mackenzie Mcdonald
Reilly Opelka holds a head-to-head lead over his fellow American Mackenzie Mcdonald but he is also beating the comeback trail.
Opelka might never reach the heights that his career promised after the latest injury setback.
McDonald has been playing regularly and will be tough to stop for Opelka.
Opelka has the better grasscourt game but will have to shed a lot of rust to get the job done.
