Wimbledon: Alfie Hewett one win away from completing historic Career Grand Slam

Alfie Hewett celebrates victory

Alfie Hewett is just a couple of sets away from a historic career achievement.

Alfie Hewett has reached the Wimbledon wheelchair singles final after beating Martin De La Puente in straight sets.

Hewett, from Norwich, came from 3-1 down in the first set to beat the Spaniard 6-3 6-2 on Court One.
But there will not be an all-British final after Scotland's Gordon Reid was beaten 6-3 6-4 by Japanese top seed Tokito Oda.
Hewett will face Oda on Sunday as he bids for a first singles in SW19 which would complete his set of grand slam championships.
The 25-year-old won his first singles major at the French Open in 2017.
Since then, he has amassed three Roland Garros crowns, three US Open titles and even one Australian Open.
The one slam which has eluded the Brit has been the one on his home soil.
Hewett has won four Wimbledon titles in doubles, though the Paralympic silver medalist will be intent on winning gold in the individual event.
The Brit has been edging closer to glory at SW19, going from a quarter-final run in 2021 to a final appearance in 2022.
Last year it was another Japanese player, Shingo Kunieda, who powered to glory in the final.
