Olympics Men's Singles: Zizou Bergs vs Stefanos Tsitsipas
Zizou Bergs has never beaten Stefanos Tsitsipas with both their previous meetings ending in favour of the Greek star.
The most recent of those meetings came in Melbourne with Tsitsipas winning their first-round clash in four sets.
This clash will be best of three at Roland Garros and their first meeting on clay.
However, given Tsitsipas' strength on clay that will only be a boost to him ahead of this clash.
Olympics Men's Singles: Christopher Eubanks vs Benjamin Hassan
Christopher Eubanks and Benjamin Hassan will face off in the opening round of the Olympics for the first time meeting in their career.
Hassan has the better record on clay but those matches took place in the tour's lower levels.
Eubanks isn't a player who typically enjoys the clay and Hassan has grown up on the surface.
However, the American will take a boost from the TEAM USA environment at the Olympics.
Olympics Men's Singles: Rinky Hijikata vs Daniil Medvedev
Rinky Hijikata and Daniil Medvedev will take to the Court Suzanne Lenglen for a second career meeting.
Medvedev holds the edge having won the previous meeting and is at the games competing as a neutral.
He has also been in good form in recent weeks and should be among the favourites for gold.
Hijikata will struggle to progress past the defensively impeccable Medvedev in the opening round.
Olympics Men's Singles: Stanislas Wawrinka vs Pavel Kotov
Pavel Kotov is out to back up a previous win when he faces Stan Wawrinka to start his Gold medal tilt.
Kotov was the victor when the players met at the French Open in May.
That result looks very likely to repeat itself with Wawrinka struggling to a 5-12 record this term.
Kotov beat two former top ten players at Roland Garros before being ousted by world No 1 Jannik Sinner.
Olympics Women's Singles: Caroline Garcia vs Jaqueline Adina Cristian
Home hope Caroline Garcia will face off with Jaqueline Adina Cristian of Romania for the first time to start her Paris 2024 run.
Garcia endured early exits at both Wimbledon and the French Open and will want to bounce back here.
Garcia has dipped to world No 25 having been in the top ten for most of last season.
However, Cristian has yet to break into the top 50 and will struggle to get beyond the Frenchwoman.
Olympics Women's Singles: Anna Karolina Schmiedlova vs Katie Boulter
Katie Boulter and Anna Schmiedlova will play each other in the first round of the Olympics for the third time in their career.
They have split the two previous meetings with the most recent clash coming in 2021.
Boulter has enjoyed a great season in 2024 and should be the player who gets through this battle.
Both players lost their first-round matches in Paris earlier this season and will want to make amends.
Olympics Women's Singles: Yulia Putintseva vs Marta Kostyuk
Kazakhstan's Yulia Putintseva goes up against Marta Kostyuk of Ukraine in another first-time meeting in Paris.
Kostyuk has reached two finals this season but neither player has claimed a title yet this campaign.
Putintseva has the better record on clay but Kostyuk has impressed in big matches.
Representing Ukraine will be very important to Kostyuk and she will want to get the job done for her country.
Olympics Women's Singles: Naomi Osaka vs Angelique Kerber
Naomi Osaka and Angelique Kerber are set to add a seventh chapter to their rivalry with a first meeting on clay.
They have not faced each other since 2022 and most of their meetings came when Kerber was at the height of her powers.
Both players have slipped as former world No 1s but they will contest a blockbuster opening round match.
Osaka will want to claw another one back as she trails 2-4 in this head-to-head career history.
