Leo Borg gets wins first ATP Tour title with victory at the Nordea Open in Sweden
Leo Borg, son of legendary tennis start Bjorn Borg, claimed the first tournament win of his professional career.
Bjorn Borg's son Leo has claimed his first ATP Tour win at the Nordea Open in Bastad, Sweden.
The 20-year-old has made modest progress in the sport so far but made the most of a wild card opportunity on home soil to beat countryman Elias Ymer 7-6 (5) 6-3 in the first round.
Borg is currently ranked 437 and plays mostly on the ITF Tour, the lowest level of the professional game, having peaked at 12 in the junior world rankings.
"I'm very happy with my performance today," he said. "It was good tennis and I'm very happy. It's crazy. I have worked so hard for this, so many years, and some days you get results and today I got a win."
Bjorn Borg is regarded as one of tennis' greatest ever stars having won 11 grand slam titles in the 1970s and early 1980s and earned a legion of fans before retiring aged only 25.
