Tennis acca tips: Novak Djokovic to dispatch last home hope

Novak Djokovic celebrates winning

Planet Sport presents last eight picks ahead of the quarter-finals in Cincy to help you assemble your tennis accumulator.

Cincinnati has seen all eight of its quarter-finals set, and many of these matches are blockbusters.
Novak Djokovic is set to take on home player Taylor Fritz in a last-eight match with intriguing ramifications for the US Open.
The women's draw is also still packed with stars, and there is an incredible match between Ons Jabeur and World No 2 Aryna Sabalenka.
Here we make picks ahead of the quarter-finals to help you assemble your tennis accumulator.

ATP Cincinnati: Hubert Hurkacz vs Alexei Popyrin

Hubert Hurkacz and Alexei Popyrin will enjoy their third ATP Tour meeting in the Cincinnati Masters.
Hurkacz holds a 2-0 lead in their head-to-head, with Popyrin having yet to take a set off the Pole.
Popyrin has had a fortunate path to the last eight, entering the main draw as a lucky loser and getting a walkover win in the second round.
Hurkacz, meanwhile, has seen off a top ten player in Stefanos Tsitsipas last time out and eliminated defending champion Borna Coric in the round before.

ATP Cincinnati: Carlos Alcaraz Garfia vs Max Purcell

Carlos Alcaraz has a qualifier standing between him and another Masters semi-final.
Alcaraz gained the quarters after besting Jordan Thompson and then avenging his Toronto loss to Tommy Paul.
Purcell had to fight through qualifying to get into the main draw but has shown that he has an upset in him.
Alcaraz and Purcell are yet to meet on the ATP Tour, making this the first clash in their personal head-to-head.

ATP Cincinnati: Adrian Mannarino vs Alexander Zverev

France's Adrian Mannarino sets out to finally defeat Alexander Zverev at what will be the eighth time of asking.
Zverev has won all seven of their previous meetings and appears fired up in Cincinnati, having already called a supervisor to court to lodge a complaint.
Hopefully organisers can keep the noise down and Zverev can keep his cool when he takes on Mannarino.
Zverev is one of two former champions left in the Cincy field along with Novak Djokovic.

ATP Cincinnati: Taylor Fritz vs Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic faces Taylor Fritz in a quarter-final contested by two Masters winners.
Djokovic had little trouble putting away an in-form Gael Monfils last time out and is the clear favourite in this one.
These players have only one previous meeting in the bank with Djokovic winning a tight semi-final in the ATP Finals in Turin last term.
Fritz is out to win a third title on home soil this season while Djokovic is making his return to US soil for the first time in nearly two years.

WTA Cincinnati: Iga Swiatek vs Marketa Vondrousova

World No 1 Iga Swiatek takes on Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova in what promises to be an intense last eight face-off.
This will be the second time that Swiatek and Vondrousova take each other on in WTA Tour action.
Swiatek won their maiden meeting which came back in 2020 as she stormed to her first Grand Slam title in Paris.
Vondrousova is a different player since then and should pose a few questions to the WTA Tour's top player.

WTA Cincinnati: Karolina Muchova vs Marie Bouzkova

The recent Czech wave continues and they will be guaranteed a player in the last four even if Vondrousova loses to Swiatek with compatriots Karolina Muchova and Marie Bouzkova contesting a quarter-final.
This will be their third meeting after they split the first two evenly.
French Open finalist Muchova has spent a lot more time on court than Bouzkova this week which may come back to bite her.
It has been four years since they last met which means that history should only play a minimal part in this one.

WTA Cincinnati: Jasmine Paolini vs Coco Gauff

Coco Gauff and Jasmine Paolini meet for just the second time in their careers and even though the American holds the 1-0 lead she will have reason to be wary.
Paolini held her own against Elena Rybakina in the last 16 before the Kazakhstan No 1 retired despite taking the first set.
Gauff has made quick work of both her opponents this week and should be energised for this clash.
Gauff will be out to lay down a marker ahead of the US Open and is just three big wins away from the most significant title of her career.

WTA Cincinnati: Ons Jabeur vs Aryna Sabalenka

The final women's quarter-final is an all-star affair that sees Ons Jabeur take on Aryna Sabalenka.
These two have split some incredible matches and to date, the career head-to-head is shaded by Sabalenka 3-2.
However, Jabeur did win the last meeting between the two players on the hallowed turf of Wimbledon.
Jabeur might be helped by having a short match last time out but Sabalenka will still take some beating.
