Wednesday’s EFL acca tips and predictions: Ipswich and Watford goal-fest, West Brom clean sheet
We’re predicting chaos when Ipswich Town welcome Watford to Portman Road as featured in Wednesday night’s EFL acca.
Ipswich and Watford could potentially be a chaotic seven-goal thriller at Portman Road, but we’re expecting more conservative affairs involving Bristol City, Blackburn, West Brom and Rotherham.
Wednesday’s EFL acca is 13/1 at the time of writing but if you bet with Planet Sport Bet, the odds could be boosted to 20/1.

Wednesday’s EFL acca
Bristol City vs Blackburn: Under 2.5 goals
Hull vs Middlesbrough: Both teams score
Ipswich vs Watford: Over 2.5 goals
Swansea vs Stoke: Both teams score
Bristol City vs Blackburn Rovers
The Robins have done a better job of controlling the tempo of games recently, contributing to them keeping a string of clean sheets.
They’ve conceded in one of their last five matches and looking further back, there have been under 2.5 goals in 10 of 12 at Ashton Gate.
Keeping the ball out has been Blackburn’s achilles heel but a return to basics under John Eustace has seen them keep nine of their last 10 opponents to one or fewer goals.
Hull City vs Middlesbrough
Both sides sit six points behind Norwich City for the sixth and final play-off place, although Hull have a game in hand on the Canaries and Middlesbrough.
Boro have rediscovered their best form under Carrick and their defence has been winning them games, both teams have scored in six straight meetings with top-half sides.
The Tigers save their best form for the road, but they’ve scored in 80% of home games and can’t afford to sit back on Wednesday.
Ipswich vs Watford
Portman Road and goals go together like spaghetti and meatballs. There have been over 2.5 goals in all but three games, but that description fails to describe the chaos aptly.
There has been an average of 4.35 goals across 20 Championship matches on home soil with both teams finding the net 16 times.
Watford are a better team on their travels, averaging 1.75 goals away from home since November, and have shown massive improvement under Tom Cleverley.
Swansea City vs Stoke City
This doesn’t jump out as an exciting fixture or one full of goals, but both teams will think they can win this game and will be comfortable pushing forward.
We can’t separate these sides with an expectation of around 1.33xG for both sides in this match, but that is enough to pull the trigger on both teams to score.
Swansea have conceded in 16 of 20 home games this season while Stoke have shipped at least one in 16 of 20 on the road.
West Bromwich Albion vs Rotherham United
Last but not least, we expect the Baggies to beat Rotherham and there’s a fair chance they do so without conceding.
Carlos Corberan’s side boast one of the best defensive records in the league and give away few high-quality chances at home.
The Millers are relegated so they can play with freedom, but there’s no real reason to dig in when the going gets tough. They’ve failed to score in six of their last seven.
