Sheffield United vs Everton tips: New Toffees signing backed to inspire first Premier League win

Beto of Everton

Planet Sport Bet ambassador Robbie Savage is backing Everton to end their barren run as he previews a huge clash at the bottom of the table with Sheffield United.

It's a big one already for Sheffield United and Everton.

Everton going behind in the Carabao Cup [against Doncaster], one nil, but then come back with two goals. Beto looks a very very good player, physical presence, pace in-behind, balls into the box. He looks a really good signing for Everton, I know it's early days.

[Arnaut] Danjuma got the winner [against Doncaster]. Pace on that left hand side, cutting in on his right foot.

Sheffield United. This is a huge, huge game, losing in midweek to Lincoln city on penalties. It's going to be a huge game in the Premier League.

The last four meetings, guess what, the away team have won. The last three games 1-0. I'm going to go with an Everton 1-0 win, with Beto - the new signing - to get the goal.

Robbie’s Pick: Sheffield United 0-1 Everton

Team news

Sheffield United will have to look for their first win of the season without the aid of Max Lowe, Ben Osborn, John Fleck, Rhian Brewster and Rhys Norrington-Davies.

Daniel Jebbison has been struggling with an illness meaning there is a chance he could feature come Saturday afternoon.

Everton, meanwhile, will be without Seamus Coleman, Dele Alli, Jack Harrison, Andre Gomes and Alex Iwobi.

Though there is hope for the likes of Dwight McNeil, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Vitalii Mykolenko.

Key stats

- Sheffield United won their last league meeting with Everton back in May 2021

- Everton are unbeaten in their last four league visits to Bramall Lane

- Sheffield United haven’t won back-to-back games against the Toffees since 1992/93

- Last four meetings have been won by the away team

- Three of the last four meetings have ended 1-0

Suggested bets

Bleak would be a mild description of the current situation at Everton. After three games the Toffees are goalless, winless and pointless. Question is, how long will that go on for?

Sean Dyche and his side didn’t actually look that bad against Wolves last week, producing 15 goal attempts, seven on target and creating 55 dangerous attacks. Their real problem is converting those opportunities and finding the back of the net.

Everton eventually found some goals against Doncaster in the Carabao Cup last Wednesday and fans will be hopeful that their side can now kick on in the league.

Sheffield United are also winless in the Prem, but instead of galvanising some momentum in the cup, the Blades were knocked out on penalties by Lincoln.

With that in mind, we’re backing this fixture to produce a fourth consecutive 1-0 victory for the away team as Everton look to officially announce their arrival in the 2023/24 campaign.

Correct score – Everton to win 1-0

Both teams to score – No

Under 2.5 goals
