Ligue 1 tips: Back goals over match winner as PSG take on Toulouse

Luis Enrique PSG unveiling

Toulouse will take on PSG in round 2 in Ligue 1 on Saturday night, and football pundit Sergiu Baltuta (of SVB Tips fame on Tipstrr) has been studying where the best betting value might lie.

PSG have started the new season with a new manager in Luis Enrique, while also how to cope without Neymar, who was tempted by a lucrative deal in Saudi Arabia and Lionel Messi (now with MLS outfit Inter Miami), while Kylian Mbappe is only being reintegrated gradually following a summer disrupted by transfer talk, and even he may yet be on his way.

The star trio were sorely missed last weekend, when PSG could only manage a goalless draw at home to Lorient, while Toulouse kicked off the new season with a 2-1 comeback win at Nantes.
PSG's last game against Toulouse was at home in February, when they managed a 2-1 win coming back from behind, thanks to goals from Hakimi and Messi.
Suggested bet: Over 3.5 goals
The last time they travelled to Toulouse, PSG managed a 3-0 win as well,, with Neymar scoring in the first half after an assist from Messi, who provided another assist for Mbappe after half-time.
Those big names are now conspicuous by their absence, and in a new line-up and with a new manager, PSG are clearly a team in transition.
Besides the numerous departures, Luis Enrique had to cope with several other absentees for the first game, with the likes of Bernat, Kimpembe, Letellier, Mendes, Mukiele or Sergio Rico all unavailable for various reasons.
PSG still have quality in depth and could well do the business here, but while this period of transition persists, it might be wiser to avoid them as odds-on favourites, and focus more on the goals markets.
