La Liga betting tips: Goals on the menu with Real Sociedad and Sevilla in the mood to celebrate
As La Liga signs off after another thrilling season, football pundit Sergiu Baltuta, who runs SVB Tips on Tipstrr, expects Sevilla’s trip to Real Sociedad to serve up some entertaining football.
Real Sociedad might take their foot off the pedal now their Champions League place is assured, but they will no doubt fancy their chances of beating a Sevilla team fatigued from their midweek exertions.
Suggested bet: Real Sociedad to win
Real Sociedad are one of the least spectacular teams in the Primera Division. With only 49 goals scored, the Basques have scored 20 goals fewer than any of the other top four teams, but at the same time only champions Barcelona (18) and Atletico Madrid (31) have conceded fewer than their 34 goals.
Imanol Alguacil is undefeated in his eight previous head-to-head encounters with Jose Luis Mendilibar (4 wins, 4 draws).
Before their dramatic Europa League triumph, Sevilla suffered a defeat in La Liga, 1-2 against Real Madrid, although that was their only defeat in the last eight outings, and could perhaps be explained and forgiven by their forthcoming final.
Sevilla have picked up 23 La Liga points on their travels this season (W6, D5, L7), and since losing at Getafe in mid-March they have won four and drawn three of their seven away games, finding the net in all of them.
With nothing at stake this game could go two ways: we could be in for a low-scoring yawnfest between two teams already on the beach, or maybe both sides could look to end their successful seasons on a high note by treating the fans to a potential goalfest.
Suggested bet: Over 2.5 Goals
