Fulham vs Rotherham tips and predictions: Premier League class to prevail against leaky Millers

Harry wilson and Carlos Vinicius

We're predicting a straightforward evening when Premier League Fulham welcome Championship strugglers Rotherham to Craven Cottage in the FA Cup on Friday night (1930 GMT).

It always looks like a mismatch when you pit a Premier League team against Championship opposition, but the gap in quality should be reflected on the pitch here.

Fulham are suddenly prolific at home, creating a wealth of good opportunities and taking the majority of them, which doesn’t bode well for Rotherham.

The Millers are used to conceding two to three goals on their travels and that’s against lesser opposition.

They’ve shipped at least two in 12 of 14 on their travels. Millwall, Watford, Hull, Plymouth and Leicester managed three or more, while Stoke rattled in 10 across two matches.

The Cottagers have managed two or more in five of their last seven, a run which includes a 3-2 win over Wolves and 5-0 romps against West Ham and Nottingham Forest.

The home side could have a busy few weeks ahead should they progress, especially as they face Liverpool twice in the Carabao Cup semi-finals.

That means rotation is likely. Raul Jimenez and Bobby Decordova-Reid could be rested, but unfortunately for the visitors, Rodrigo Muniz and Harry Wilson will be eager to please.

Wilson in particular is used to making light work of Championship opposition having scored 40 goals and providing 37 assists in the second tier.

Harrison Reed, Andreas Pereira and Sasa Lukic could all get an opportunity in midfield. Regardless of rotation, it’s clear that Marco Silva's Fulham have the quality to keep creating chances.
