There’s a mid-table battle this Saturday afternoon as Fulham host Bournemouth at Craven Cottage (1500 GMT).

You look at some Premier League fixtures and you can’t help but marvel. ‘Wow, what a game. This could be a thriller. That game has potential.’

I’m afraid Saturday’s clash at Craven Cottage isn’t one of those games.

In fact, this is the type of match you pray is on at 3pm so it doesn’t take up one of the televised spots. It’s a fixture that will undoubtedly take last place on Match Of The Day’s running order.

Perhaps we’re being a little harsh. But perhaps, there is a grain of truth in our disproportionately biased take.

Both these teams have drawn their last two fixtures in the Premier League. Both have scored two goals across those matches.

Fulham enter the weekend in the midst of a six-match winless run across all competitions.

Bournemouth, on the other hand, are winless in four in the Premier League.

Three of the last five head-to-head meetings between these clubs have ended in draws, while the Cherries also picked up two victories.

Both those wins came in their most recent encounters with Fulham, including a 3-0 thumping last December.

The two teams are not firing on all cylinders and we’re backing this fixture to produce yet another draw.

The 1-1 scoreline in the correct score market will offer plenty of value. Though backing the draw in the outright market should also provide a decent price.

    Team news

Fulham enter this fixture without Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi who are part of the Nigerian side which made the AFCON final.

Marco Silva’s men are also missing the injured trio of Issa Diop, Raul Jimenez and Harry Wilson.

Bournemouth, meanwhile, will be without Max Aarons, Tyler Adams, Philip Billing, Ryan Fredericks and James Hill.
