EFL Tuesday acca: Middlesbrough pass Carabao Cup test, Derby thrash Northampton

Michael Carrick celebrates a Middlesbrough win

Planet Sport has picked out a spooky four-fold from the Carabao Cup and League One action taking place on Tuesday, October 31.

We were counting our chickens before they hatched on Saturday. A dull second half in League Two spoiled our fun, but there are still 30+ matchdays to get stinking rich.

We’ll avoid the sole League Two fixture on Tuesday. There’s no shortage of scary happenings on Halloween, but watching Barrow vs Morecambe sounds terrifying.

Tuesday’s acca is currently priced at 11/1. Place a £5+ all-correct accumulator (min. 5 selections) and get up to a 50% BONUS on your winnings.

EFL midweek acca

Mansfield to beat Port Vale

Middlesbrough to beat Exeter

Derby County -1 Asian handicap

Fleetwood vs Blackpool: Under 2.5 goals

Mansfield vs Port Vale - Carabao Cup

It’s League Two hosting League One at Field Mill but roles could be reversed come May. Mansfield are flying and Port Vale are falling apart again.

Vale have drawn two and lost five of their previous seven, scoring just four goals. Nigel Clough’s Mansfield have outscored their visitors 16-7 through 10 games.

Exeter vs Middlesbrough - Carabao Cup

Exeter beat Luton 1-0 in the last round, but they’ve scored just two in seven at home, a run which has included 9-0 and 5-0 losses.

Stoke surprisingly halted Boro’s seven-game win streak at the weekend so the visitors should be feeling mean.

Derby County vs Northampton - League One

Derby have been hit and miss but could close the gap to the play-offs by winning this crucial game in hand. Northampton have lost five of seven on their travels so it’s a great opportunity.

Their two wins came against Cheltenham, a team who didn’t score for 11 games and Exeter, so they don’t count. Cobblers winless in five, 5-0 Rams.

Fleetwood vs Blackpool - League One

Fleetwood face Blackpool on Tuesday, so at least we’ll see one competitive derby in the North West this month.

However, one goal across four meetings does not fill us with excitement and anticipation, so back under 2.5 goals and check the score at full-time.
