Birmingham City vs Middlesbrough

We’ve reached the stage of the season where the table doesn’t lie. Birmingham have avoided defeat in 77% of home games and regularly trouble the top teams at home.

Middlesbrough are far from a top team as they’ve blown hot and cold all season, alternating wins and losses through their last nine.

Recently results have skewed the odds marginally in Middlesbrough’s favour but this game arguably matters more to City so we’ll happily take a punt.

Carlisle United vs Barnsley

It’s hard not to like Barnsley’s chances in the circumstances. Carlisle are rock bottom of League One and are doomed having lost 10 of their last 11.

Barnsley were beaten 5-1 at Oakwell by Lincoln City on Saturday which was a peculiar result. The Tykes were unbeaten in eight, are unbeaten in nine on their travels and are chasing promotion.

There probably aren’t many examples of teams being in this specific spot but we’re willing to bet the promotion chasers would bounce back nearly every time.

Derby County vs Reading

The Rams are up to second in the table and maintaining that magical two-points-per-game tally through their last eight after beating Bristol Rovers 3-0 at the weekend.

That’s a tricky fixture that cost them dearly last season so they’re focused and we think they’ll want to exploit this fixture with Bolton, Blackpool and Portsmouth on the horizon.

Lincoln City vs Cambridge United

With some apprehension, we include the Imps in Tuesday’s EFL acca. Their 5-1 win at Barnsley was impressive and means they are now the form team through eight games.

They could suffer a letdown but they’re unbeaten in 11, allowing just four goals, and need to continue their unlikely push for the play-offs. Cambridge rarely pick up points away from home.

Grimsby Town vs MK Dons

MK Dons were recently humbled by rivals Wimbledon but have responded with back-to-back wins to keep the gap to third-placed Wrexham to two points.

The Welsh side are dropping points more regularly recently but shouldn't slip up when hosting Harrogate, so the Dons must match their result against a side that’s conceded 23 goals in their last seven at home.
