EFL weekend acca: Tykes, Valiants and Red Dragons revenge feature in Saturday six-fold

Wrexham vs Grimsby in the National League play-offs

Planet Sport has compiled a weekend acca made up of selections from the EFL Championship, League One and League Two.

We got off the mark with Tuesday’s 14/1 Euro 2024 acca and now we’re on the hunt for our first winning EFL acca of the season. Saturday’s effort is currently available at 24/1.

Suggested bets

Norwich City to beat Stoke City

Cardiff City vs Swansea City: Both teams to score

Barnsley to beat Burton Albion

Port Vale to beat Northampton Town

Swindon Town vs Walsall: Over 2.5 goals

Wrexham to beat Grimsby Town

Norwich City vs Stoke City

The visitors have lost a lot of football matches in 2023 and the Canaries look like a good team. They may be a bit leaky at the back, but they’ve plenty of goals in them and this game falls into the category of must-win at home if they’re to mount a serious push.

Cardiff City vs Swansea City

The battle of South Wales takes place on Saturday and neither team has kept a clean sheet so far this season. Equally, they haven’t failed to score, either. Both teams to score is a perfect five from five and last season’s meeting here finished 3-2 to the visitors.

Barnsley vs Burton Albion

This isn’t a very adventurous pick, but you need a few safe bets to hang your hat on. Barnsley’s inclusion boosts the odds and should be a sure thing given the Tykes have won three consecutive games 2-0 and the Brewers have netted twice in seven outings.

Port Vale vs Northampton Town

What a difference 43 days, 13 points, seven goals, four wins and one draw can make. That’s what Port Vale have achieved since losing 7-0 to Barnsley. Northampton have been competitive, but they’ve lost back-to-back games and this looks like a tough test.

Swindon Town vs Walsall

Swindon and goals go together like bread and butter. They’ve rudely smashed six past Crawley, beat Sutton 5-3 and drew 5-5 with Wrexham. Both teams have scored in eight of Crewe’s nine matches, seven of which have had over 2.5 goals and four of which have featured four-plus goals.

Wrexham vs Grimsby Town

Wrexham are unbeaten in six since their opening day defeat and they’ve found the net 11 times in three home matches, scoring four against Walsall and five against Swindon. There may be a bit of niggle about this match which may be personal for the Red Dragons, as this is their first meeting with Town since they beat them in the play-offs.
