Chelsea vs Man City tips and predictions: Champions to suffer setback at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson

Planet Sport Bet’s Robbie Savage thinks Chelsea can spring a surprise by pinching a point off Manchester City in the Premier League on Super Sunday (1630 GMT).

Chelsea come into this game without European football, on the back of a fantastic 4-1 win against Spurs.

Confidence in the team must be quite high. Breaking Spurs’ unbeaten record in the Premier League.

The game is at the Bridge. Obviously, scoring goals has been a problem for Chelsea but they got four against Spurs.

Who’s going to stop Man City? With teams dropping points, Man City look like they’re going to win four in a row. No question about that.

But, I think Chelsea can cause a little bit of an upset here and it will be an upset because City are so good.

I’m going to go with a 1-1 draw.

Robbie’s Tip: Chelsea 1-1 Man City

Planet Sport’s other bets to consider

Chelsea’s win at Tottenham was largely Spurs own doing, but that doesn’t change the fact that it will have provided a huge morale boost.

Although the Blues have struggled in front of goal over the past 18 months, current form suggests they’re ready to put that behind them.

They’ve scored 15 in seven despite drawing a blank against Brentford and they’ll certainly need to score to get anything from this game.

It will also take a mammoth defensive effort. City have scored 12 in six on their travels but they have conceded in four of those. Both teams to score seems a solid bet.

Nicolas Jackson has scored six times for Chelsea this season while Erling Haaland leads to way with 15 goals.

Pep Guardiola’s side have struck eight times in the opening 30 minutes of their last five.

On the other hand, there have been five goals in the opening 15 minutes of Chelsea’s last five.

Time of first goal: Under 30 minutes

First half goals: Over 1.5

Both teams to score
