Borussia Dortmund vs PSG tips and predictions: Shock Champions League exit on the cards for Paris

Kylian Mbappe and Edin Terzic

Paris Saint-Germain must beat Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park to make sure of their progression in the Champions League.

The final round of the UCL group stage is here, and Group F has not disappointed. Borussia Dortmund have already secured their place in the knockout round, while PSG, Newcastle, and Milan battle for the second spot.

The French team has a two-point lead over Milan and Newcastle and must win to avoid relying on the result of the match at St James’ Park.

Few would have expected Dortmund to be in this position, especially given that Borussia’s squad is not as strong as it was in previous seasons.

Edin Terzic's team defeated Newcastle twice, 2-0 at home and 1-0 away, and avoided defeat against AC Milan, winning 3-1 at home and drawing 0-0 away. Their only defeat was against PSG.

Coming off two consecutive Bundesliga losses, both to top-four opponents in Stuttgart and RB Leipzig, the German side will be looking to rebound.

Borussia put up a good fight against Leipzig in their last game, even though Mats Hummels was sent off in the 15th minute.

On the other hand, PSG earned a 2-1 victory over Nantes with a late goal from Randal Kolo Muani. PSG is currently atop Ligue 1, seven points ahead of Monaco.

They have struggled away from home in the UEFA Champions League, losing both of their games and accumulating only seven points after five rounds.

In their most recent match, they drew 1-1 at home against Newcastle after a controversial penalty awarded to Kylian Mbappé. They had previously dominated but failed to convert their chances.

The two teams have faced each other five times and there’s been little to split them, with Dortmund claiming one win and two draws.
