Atalanta vs Juventus tips: Goals at a premium in tight top-four clash

Ademola Lookman of Atalanta

In one of the biggest games of round seven in Serie A, Atalanta will take on Juventus at Bergamo on Sunday night, and Sergio Baltuta, who runs SV Tips on Tipstrr, expects a tight game.

Date, Kick-off time and TV coverage

Serie A, Sunday October 1, kick-off 17:00, live on TNT Sports 1

Suggested bets:

A quick glance at the table reveals that this game tops the match between Milan and Lazio, as both La Dea, and La Vecchia Signora are in the top four.

Atalanta started the season with the same inconsistency shown in the previous season, inconsistency that ultimately saw them miss out on Champions League football. In the first rounds, La Dea alternated the wins with defeats, but it appears that their form has eventually begun to establish some rhythm.

From their 3-2 reversal at the hands of Fiorentina, Atalanta embarked on a winning streak that has brought three consecutive victories, all of them without conceding a goal.

The sequence began with a 2-0 win against Rakow in the Europa League, which continued with Serie A successes at home to Cagliari (2-0) followed by a 1-0 success at Verona.

Suggested bet: Atalanta double chance win or draw

For Atalanta the game against Juventus represents their toughest assignment so far, a game in which the team from Bergamo will measure their top four potential.

Gian Piero Gasperini has some troubles in attack at the moment, because after the injuries suffered by Gianluca Scamacca and El Bilal Toure, another attacking player brought in the summer is uncertain, De Ketelaere.

Juventus are yet to show themselves as a top team this season, but the decent results and the fact that they are not playing in Europe and therefore have a lighter schedule make many consider the team from Turin serious title contenders.

Juventus eased their way through their opening three games, bookending a 1-1 home draw against Bologna with wins over Udinese (3-0) and Empoli (2-0).

In the first serious test of the season Juventus managed a 3-1 win against an out of form Lazio, but after that the bianconeri’s performances have slipped a little, suffering a 2-4 defeat at Sassuolo, before having to dig deep to secure a hard-earned 1-0 win at home against Lecce.

Mattia De Sciglio and Alex Sandro are still unavailable because of injuries, while Paul Pogba is suspended for doping violations.

Juventus are undefeated in 33 of the last 36 games against Atalanta, but they won only three of the last 12 games against the team from Bergamo, who have won all three home games this season without conceding a goal.

Suggested bet: Under 2.5 goals
