Eden Hazard faces Huesca next, here's his previous record
Real Madrid simply have to beat Huesca to keep up any hopes of staying in the La Liga title race, and Eden Hazard hopes to add to his goal in the reverse fixture by scoring again on Saturday.
After a disappointing week for Real Madrid, Eden Hazard will be determined to get back to winning ways this weekend.
Los Blancos travel to the north-east of Spain to take on La Liga's bottom side, Huesca on Saturday afternoon.
It will be only the fourth time that the two sides have met in all competitions, with the previous three encounters all going the way of Real Madrid.
The sides last met in October, where Real ran out comfortable 4-1 winners.
The Spanish giants still sit 10 points behind league leaders Atletico Madrid, and Hazard will be hoping to help bridge that gap this weekend, in a must-win game.
Let's have a look at the stats.
Stat Attack
Eden Hazard has only played against Huesca on one occasion, following his move to the Bernabeu in June 2019.
The Belgian has a 100 percent goalscoring record against the strugglers, opening the scoring in the two sides' last meeting in October 2020.
This fixture - albeit a small sample size - has produced goals so far, with the three previous meetings averaging 3.67 goals per game.
It's fair to say it looks a great opportunity for Hazard to add to his modest two goals so far this season.
Memorable Match
Real Madrid 4-1 Huesca
31 October 2020
It was a quiet 40 minutes before the 34-time Spanish champions sparked into life, and it was the former Chelsea winger who made the breakthrough. And what a goal it was.
Hazard received the ball 25 yards out, with his back to goal, before the Belgian turned beautifully and drilled the ball into the right-hand corner from long range.
Real doubled their lead on the stroke of half time courtesy of Karim Benzema, who expertly brought down Lucas Vazquez's cross on his chest, before firing home inside the six-yard area.
Federico Valverde added a third after 54 minutes, smashing the ball hard and low at the back post after Benzema's dinked cross.
Huesca did manage a consolation goal, through half-time substitute David Ferreiro's tap in.
But there was still time for Real to add a fourth, as Benzema bagged a brace by heading in from close range, following Rodrygo's knock down from Marcelo's cross.
Tip of the fixture
