Where next for Kyle Walker? Latest odds as Man City star heads for exit door
Kyle Walker is on the way out of Manchester City with the right-back set to leave as early as January’s transfer window. Question is, where will the England man go next?
City boss Pep Guardiola revealed to the media Walker’s exit plans, with AC Milan becoming early favourites to sign the player.
Saudi Arabia also appeared to be an option for the England international, though recent reports indicate Walker’s preference is a top European club.
The 34-year-old has 18 months on his current contract with Man City, however he is unlikely to play many more minutes in the sky-blue colours after telling Guardiola about his future plans.
Here, we take a look at the favourites to sign the highly-rated right-back.
Kyle Walker’s club after January’s window
AC Milan – 1/6
Inter Milan – 1/1
Any Saudi Pro League club – 9/2
Juventus – 12/1
Tottenham – 25/1
(Odds are correct at time of writing)
AC Milan
AC Milan have a difficult decision to make. Due to straight Serie A rules on signing non-EU players, the club will most likely have to decide between signing Kyle Walker or Marcus Rashford.
Walker is priced at a very short price to join the Italian giants. Such move would see him link up with fellow England stars Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Fikayo Tomori and Tammy Abraham.
Inter Milan
Walker could go to Milan but instead of joining I Rossoneri, he could fly the black and blue colours of Inter.
Unlike AC Milan, Simone Inzaghi’s men are in the Serie A title fight and could yet make a serious bid for the Champions League crown.
Walker is used to challenging for serious silverware and joining Inter would certainly tick that box.
Any Saudi Pro League club
While many regarded the Saudi Pro League as the obvious next destination for Walker, it now appears the player would much rather stay in Europe and join a big club.
The one thing which could tempt the Englishman over is a hefty cheque – something the Saudis are very good at providing.
Juventus
If Milan is not the destination, Turin could be on the cards. Juventus love a big name signing and the capture of Walker would certainly come under that category.
Juventus are still unbeaten in Serie A this season, but their title bid looks dead after drawing 13 of their 20 league matches.
Tottenham
The only Premier League club near the top of the bookies’ list is Tottenham at around the 25/1 mark.
Walker has indicated he wants to go abroad and a move to Tottenham does seem unlikely.
Challenging for serious silverware will undoubtedly be on Walker’s agenda and Spurs are not in a position to offer that.
