West Ham defender Nayef Aguerd's injury not a broken ankle
West Ham manager David Moyes has confirmed the injury defender Nayef Aguerd picked up against Rangers is not as bad as first feared, but he was unsure how long the Moroccan would be out of action.
The 26-year-old centre-back, who joined West Ham for £30million in June, limped off in the first half of a 3-1 friendly defeat to Rangers with a large swelling on his ankle.
Moyes confirmed x-rays at a local Glasgow hospital showed the Moroccan international had not suffered an ankle break, but admitted the club don't yet know the full extent of the problem.
"We've already had Nayef x-rayed and there's no break in his ankle, which is good news," said Moyes.
"It might be some ligaments, or he's twisted his ankle - it blew up immediately so we have to hope it's not a problem."

Aguerd twisted his ankle after making a last ditch sliding tackle to correct his own error which had allowed Rangers through on goal.
The defender instantly signalled to the West Ham bench and was eventually helped off the field after several minutes of treatment.
