Transfer Zone: Man United reject Barcelona’s Harry Maguire trade offer, plus Ronaldo birthday wish

Manchester United are desperate for signings, but not desperate enough to part ways with Harry Maguire according to the latest transfer developments.

The Red Devils are yet to make a signing during this summer transfer window, with Erik ten Hag running out of time before the start of the club's pre-season tour.

One player who has been linked with United for an extensive amount of time is Barcelona's star midfielder, Frenkie de Jong.

The Premier League outfit have already seen a bid rejected for the player, but that hasn't deterred the Catalonian outfit from making a stunning counter offer.

According to reports, United rejected a request from the La Liga giants to include Harry Maguire in the potential deal.

Instead of losing their captain, it appears United will just do what they've always done in transfer negotiations - throw more money at the deal.

Clubs are starting to pick up on Man United's transfer economics. Just keep them at the table, and the fee will increase faster than gas prices.

Over the weekend, Cristiano Ronaldo made the headlines after his agent met the new co-owner of Chelsea, Todd Boehly.
Former England cricketer and Blues fan Kevin Pietersen has since dedicated his birthday wish to the possible transfer.
Speaking of Chelsea, their list of transfer targets appears to be growing by the day.
That, however, won't do manager Thomas Tuchel much good unless at least one of those names is signed, sealed and delivered.
One man linked with a possible transfer this summer is Bayern Munich's Serge Gnabry whose contract is set to expire in 2023.
Any side lucky enough to land his signature will not only get a decent forward but also a Motown tribute act, if this photo is anything to go by.
