Tottenham v Elfsborg predictions: Free bet builder and tips as Spurs look to secure last 16 qualification

Dejan Kulusevski of Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham return to the warm embrace of the Europa League when they face Elfsborg on Thursday, January 30, and we have a juicy bet builder to help you bash the bookies.

European and domestic cup competitions have probably saved Ange Postecoglou's managerial skin when Daniel Levy calls him in for a 'quick chat'.

While Tottenham have been utterly woeful in the Premier League, reaching the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup and potentially the last 16 of the Europa League have given Spurs' season a bit of undeserved gloss.

Sixth place in the Europa League standings and needing a win against a Swedish side in 20th, to guarantee a place in the last 16 and avoid the play-offs, should be an easy enough task for Tottenham.

However, nothing Spurs have done this campaign has looked easy, but even with a raft of injuries this is a game they should win.

We've pulled together a five-legged acca that comes in at 13/2 for Thursday night’s clash

Good luck and please gamble responsibly.

Tottenham v Elfsborg bet builder

Tottenham win and BTTS - 13/10

Over 2.5 goals

Kulusevski to score or assist - 4/5

Ouma more than one foul - 1/4

Hult more than one foul - 8/15

Spurs win and BTTS

There’s no value in just backing Tottenham to win against a side who have lost all three of their away games in the Europa League this season.

So we’ll need to add something else to boost the odds, and both teams to score is the obvious place to land.

Elfsborg have already beaten Nice and Roma so have proved they are no cowards when it comes to mixing it with the big boys.

They’ve scored in six of their seven Europa League games, including three against Galatasaray and two against AZ Alkmaar, though they lost both.

Tottenham have scored 14 goals in the Europa League so far, but are a leaky bucket at the back and have only collected two clean sheets in their last 11 games across all competitions.

Allowing a Leicester side, who had lost their last seven Premier League games, to win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last Sunday sums it up.

Over 2.5 goals

BTTS and over 2.5 goals usually fit together nicely and Tottenham see this bet come in a lot.

Spurs average 3.51 goals per game and across all competitions, five of the last five Tottenham have seen over 2.5 goals land, two of those would have seen over 4.5 goals succeed too.

Elfsborg are handy in front of goal, they average 2.6 goals a game. Clean sheets are not uncommon but usually against the weaker opposition and at home.

On the road though they’ve let in 10 goals in just three games.

Kulusevski to score or assist

Dejan Kulusevski has played a lot of minutes this season, and given Tottenham’s injury woes, he is unlikely to get a break.

The Swede, who started his youth career at one of Elfsborg’s rivals, has netted nine goals and eight assists this season, and has scored or assisted in two of his last three Europa League appearances.

If he starts or comes off the bench, he’s a good shout for a goal involvement.

Ouma more than one foul

Kenyan international Timothy Ouma will be in the thick of the action against a Tottenham side who have most of the possession.

In his six Europa League starts this season Ouma has committed at least one foul, four came against Qarabag in their last outing.

So jot him down for another against Spurs.

Hult more than one foul

Over on the left side of midfield Elfsborg’s Niklus Hult is likely to be given a good run around by the likes of Kulusevski and Pedro Porro cantering forward.

The Swedish international averages 1.06 fouls per European match and has six fouls in his last seven appearances in the competition.

He is also leading the European fouls chart for Elfsborg this campaign with 12.
