Ex Tottenham and England left-back Danny Rose came close to shock Poland move during winter window
Former Tottenham, Watford and England left-back Danny Rose was offered to Polish Ekstraklasa side Widzew Lodz during the winter window, according to Polish journalist Bartosz Jankowski.
The 32-year-old is currently a free agent after leaving Watford in September 2022.
Rose and Watford agreed a mutual termination of his contract after a one season spell which saw him make eight Premier League appearances.
In a tweet, the journalist claims that Rose was turned down by Widzew due to his recent form and the financial obligations which would come with a move of that magnitude.
Players in the Polish Ekstraklasa earn a fraction of the money on offer in the Premier League. The highest earning player in the league according to recent reports is Legia Warsaw defender Artur Jedrzejczyk who is said to make £8,000 per week.
Rose, on the other hand, was earning £60,000 per week during his most recent spell with Watford, according to Spotrac.
