Richarlison's Real Madrid ambitions and Ange Postecoglou's vision for Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur's Richarlison wants to play for "the biggest club in the world", amid reports linking him to Real Madrid.
Tottenham Hotspur star Richarlison has expressed his desire to represent "the biggest club in the world", Real Madrid.
The Brazilian forward, who joined Spurs from Everton in a £60 million deal, has encountered challenges since his transfer.
Despite making 27 appearances for the North London club, Richarlison has only managed to find the net once in the Premier League. His overall tally stands at three goals in 35 matches across all competitions.
Responding to reports linking him with Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid, Richarlison admitted, "Every player wants to don the Real Madrid shirt. It's the biggest club in the world.
"However, I have a club and a contract, and I must justify their significant investment. Nonetheless, playing for Real Madrid is a dream for any player."
During the 22/23 season, Richarlison openly criticized former Spurs manager Antonio Conte's decision to relegate him to the bench. "I can't comprehend certain things. Once again, there was no explanation. Let's wait and see what he [Conte] tells me. But I'm not naive; I'm a dedicated professional who strives to play.
"Frankly, the amount of playing time I've received this season has been unsatisfactory," Richarlison vented to TNT Sports Brazil.
With new Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou taking charge this month, Richarlison faces the challenge of impressing the Australian manager.
In his inaugural interview, Postecoglou expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "I am delighted to commence my role as the manager of this esteemed football club. I eagerly anticipate our upcoming journey, as it presents an exciting opportunity to forge a new path, play dynamic football, and establish an environment that epitomizes the values and traditions of this exceptional club."
"Hopefully a team that you can all be proud of, and more importantly get excited by.
"I can assure you that right through pre-season we won't leave any stone unturned, myself, the staff and the players, to make sure that when the league comes around you will be as excited as I am about the season ahead.
"So I really look forward to seeing everyone at the stadium, in particular at our first home game, and I look forward to the journey ahead."
