  • Real Madrid'S Woes Deepen As Vinicius Junior Suffers Thigh Injury On International Duty

Real Madrid's woes deepen as Vinicius Junior suffers thigh injury on International Duty

Vinicius Junior of Brazil grimaces in pain

In another blow to Real Madrid's already injury-ridden squad, key forward Vinicius Junior endured a setback during Brazil's recent FIFA World Cup Qualifier clash against Colombia in Barranquilla.

Eduardo Camavinga had recently been sidelined for two months due to a knee injury sustained in training with the French national team, adding to the Spanish giants' woes. Now, Vinicius finds himself on the injury list after a brief stint on the pitch against Colombia.

Named in Brazil's starting line-up, Vinicius' appearance was cut short, lasting a mere 27 minutes. The Real Madrid and Brazil forward had to be substituted for Joao Pedro after pulling up with a left thigh issue.

According to ESPN journalist Gustavo Hofman, Vinicius' injury mirrors a previous incident earlier in the season, though that time, it was his right thigh affected. Despite the 23-year-old reporting minimal pain, early indications are concerning.

Vinicius is scheduled for additional tests to assess the extent and severity of his injury. The results will determine whether he continues with the Brazilian squad or returns to Madrid.

Addressing the media post-Brazil's 1-2 defeat to Colombia, Vinicius Junior shared insights into his condition, stating, "I think it's the same as last time. I took a hit there, and it got a little bit painful later on."

With this setback, Vinicius is unlikely to feature in Brazil's upcoming match against Argentina, leaving fans and management uncertain about the duration of his absence.

Real Madrid's struggle with injuries intensifies, with key players sidelined and crucial fixtures on the horizon. The club faces a challenging period as they aim to navigate both domestic and international competitions without some of their star players.

As the medical team conducts further assessments, Real Madrid anxiously await updates on Vinicius Junior's condition, hoping for a swift recovery for the talented forward.
